About

Dr Fedja Orucevic is a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Spectomiq, and a Reader in Quantum Physics at the University of Sussex. His research spans fundamental and applied quantum physics, from ultracold atoms and Bose–Einstein condensates to quantum sensing and optically pumped magnetometers.

Over more than a decade of research, he has led the development of quantum magnetic sensing technologies and their application to challenging real-world problems. His work has included resilient navigation, magnetic imaging, battery diagnostics and other applications requiring sensitive measurements outside controlled laboratory environments.

At Spectomiq, Fedja leads the company’s scientific strategy, technology development and longer-term research direction.
