Dr Thomas Coussens is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of SpectomiQ. He is a quantum physicist specialising in optically pumped magnetometers and magnetic sensing systems, with a focus on developing compact, efficient sensor arrays for practical deployment.

His work has centred on translating quantum sensing technology from laboratory prototypes into robust systems that can operate in real-world environments. This includes sensor design, system integration and the development of scalable architectures suitable for a range of commercial applications.

At SpectomiQ, Tom leads the company’s strategy, product development and commercialisation, working to turn the underlying quantum sensing technology into deployable products and services.
